Bio

Dr. Phyllis Billia trained in Medicine at the University of Toronto and completed postgraduate residency training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Toronto. Prior to her medical training, she completed a PhD in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. She has CIHR- and HSFC-funded research programs studying the mechanisms underlying heart failure and cardiac regeneration. More recently, she has been working on translational collaborations to better understand the association of clonal hematopoiesis and cardiovascular disease and to identify markers of adverse outcomes in patients that present in cardiogenic shock.
