Bio

Dr. John Muscedere trained in Medicine at Western University and completed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine, Respirology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on improving outcomes for critically ill patients by generating new evidence and knowledge translation through clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses focussing on nosocomial infections, respiratory failure, and frailty. He leads a research program studying inhaled furosemide for the treatment of pulmonary inflammation in acute respiratory failure. Dr. Muscedere is the Scientific Director for the Canadian Frailty Network (CFN) which is a pan-Canadian network funded by the government of Canada dedicated to improving care for older Canadians living with frailty.
